2014 Angelica, Amador County Our 2014 Angelica is made from the Mission grape. The grape has a meaningful history in California dating back to the Franciscan monks who made a very sweet, high alcohol wine for sacramental purposes. Our Angelica is made in the port-style, fortified with brandy. Now after aging in barrel for more than 4 years, the last of our Angelica is spectacular, resulting in an almost Cognac like sensation. The flavors and aromas have rich fruit of apricot, dates and raisins, complimented by a slight nuttiness. As the wine opens up you experience layers of brown sugar and maple syrup, coated hazelnuts. On the mouth, the wine is sweet, warm and silky, with a seductive finish. Enjoy it by itself or with your favorite dessert or cheese. Our Angelica will age well for many years to come. Very limited, 500 milliliter, 18.5 Alcohol.
