  • Our first release of Barbera was 10 years ago. We like to think that we were at the forefront of the Barbera Renaissance. This wine celebrates our passion and mission to produce award winning, authentic Barbera. We went back to the original vineyard where it all started 10 years that received a Best of Class award to produce this wine in celebration of our commitment of producing Barbera. Enjoy hints of all spice, earthiness and Rainer cherry and a very classic Italian style Barbera. Fall in love with its bright fruit and lively acidity, making it a very versatile food wine. Drinking amazingly now! This is Cal-Ital!

  • THE VASO DI MARINA STORY

When my grandmother Marina Portalupi immigrated to Northern California from Piemonte Italy, she brought with her more than just her knowledge of winemaking. She also brought along the traditions and beliefs of how wine was meant to be enjoyed. She didn't believe good wine was something to be stored away under lock and key, occasionally enjoyed by a precious few. No, wine was a daily staple. As much as milk, eggs and bread. Something to be enjoyed regularly with friends and family. Just as she had done in Italy, when she opened Luna Park Grocery in San Jose, California, she kept a small barrel of her vino di tavola to serve in her store. Every day, customers would bring in empty milk bottles, or whatever vessel they had, to fill up and take home. Often that wine was passed around the table in jelly jars to be enjoyed by all. It is in honor of my grandmother and in her spirit that we make Vaso di Marina for you to enjoy as my grandmother intended! Food Pairings: It’s every day. It’s pizza. It’s tri-tip. Or a bacon cheeseburger. It’s the red wine for the simple, uncluttered times in your life. Bring your empties back to the tasting room for a refill. Don't worry about them not being clean, we'll take care of it. Your sixth fill up is just a penny!

  • GOLD MEDAL - SF SCHRONICLE WINE CLUB ONLY Dolinsek Ranch, a magical vineyard planted over 108 years ago by the Frati family, has produced outstanding wines throughout this century. The soil is a rich sandy-Goldridge loam and is located just off the famous Laguna Road in Russian River Valley. Jim Dolinsek, owner and grower, had the chance to purchase the property 19 years ago and since then, has meticulously cared for each and every vine with a passion. Deep purple, with jam and spice on the nose, the 2014 vintage shows elegance and length, medium tannins. On the palette, lush liquor like blackberry fruit and white pepper for a truly unique sensory experience. Superb with grilled meats and sharp, earthy cheeses.
