VINEYARD NOTES
Our 2020 Barbera grapes come from one of the most highly sought after vineyards in California. Shake Ridge Ranch is located in the Sierra Foothills along a ridge 1,650–1,810 feet above sea level. Renowned grower, Ann Kraemer is one of the most highly respected figures in the wine world. In short order, this vineyard has proven to be a true star.
WINEMAKER NOTES
After studying winemaking in Alba, I learned and grew to love the impact of Hungarian oak on Barbera. It softens the acidity. Aged for 16 months with 50% new, 40% 1 year and 10% 2 year.
Polenta is a staple of Italy and dates back to Roman times. We have modernized it adding a little sweetness using Mascarpone!
