The red and black cherries jump out at you from the very beginning. Aromatics of definitive dried red rose petals, cherries, mushroom and slight forest floor. Great color of jeweled garret with a brighter acidity and moderate to low tannins. Flavors of explosive cherries, even ripe heirloom tomato with hint of vanilla, cinnamon, tea, rhubarb and gamey meat. A nice backbone complimented by subtle oak spice tones with a rich and long finish. Drink now with decanting or age 6 – 10 years.
Vineyard: Nestled in the heart of the Russian River Valley, this tiny Dijon clone vineyard benefits from the evening Pacific Ocean breezes and “Gold Ridge” soil. The vineyard is grided on a mild hillside allowing for great drainage and afternoon sun exposure, all contributing to the wines concentration of fruit and spice. Clones 667 and 777.
