Vermentino 2022

2022 Vermentino

This wine is the perfect expression of the Italian style Vermentino grape. The very best white wine for food. Enjoy fresh, ripe, honeydew, tangerine, apricot and citrus blossom. Refreshing and cleansing. This grape is becoming more popular and has all of the qualities of a Sauvignon Blanc with a far more beautiful finish. It is one of the finest Italian white wines with origins from Sardinia and the Ligurian coastline. Excellent with oysters, clams, mussels, or a summer fresh salad. The wine is gentle, like a summer breeze off the Mediterranean. Drink now or up to 2 years.

Our grapes are from the Sonoma Carneros growing region. The legendary Mahoney family is one of the truly dedicated growers and champions of Vermentino in California. The unique Las Brisas, Carneros vineyard part of the Mahoney Estate translates to “the breezes” and sits on the Sonoma side of the appellation. It is named for the winds that drive the morning fog from the vineyards and bring in cooling breezes in the late afternoon. The predominately clay soils of the Carneros are shallow this combined with the influences of the nearby San Pablo Bay, yield remarkable fruit year after year. The marine air provides the perfect growing conditions for the Vermentino grape. This grape is rare, yet one of the finest Italian white wines with origins from Sardinia and the Ligurian coastline.

Garden Caesar Salad

The anchovy paste makes this salad so good. A meal in itself, especially if you add chicken!
